4 Strange Driving-Specific Laws on Long Island and Across New York

  1. You are not allowed to disrobe in your vehicle in the Village of Sag Harbor.
  2. Drivers in West Hampton Dunes are prohibited from making U-turns.
  3. Cars in the Town of Oyster Bay must have a regular emergency-type horn – no funny noises or songs.
  4. It’s illegal to sleep inside your vehicle in Southampton when you’re parked on any street, beach access road, or park, parking lot, or rec area that is owned, operated, or maintained by the village. Violators may be fined up to $1,000 or spend to 15 days in prison.
